Charles Richard “Rich” Rexrode Sr., 90, died Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at the home of his daughter, Vera Conner, at Churchville.
He was born May 21, 1909, at Blue Grass, a son of Loyd Allen and Mary Bess (Eye) Rexrode.
He was a retired brick mason. He was a member of Hamilton Chapel Advent Christian Church.
On October 30, 1922, he married Maysie Siron Kelly, who preceded him in death January 22, 1997.
He was also preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Vera and Toby Conner, and Vonda and Tommy Terry of Bolar; two sons and daughters-in-law Charles R. Jr. and Carolyn Rexrode, and Jerry and Margy Rexrode, all of Monterey; a brother and sister-in-law, Milford and Lousie Rexrode of Staunton; nine grandchildren, including a special granddaughter and care-giver for two-and-one-half years, Tammy Coyner; 11 great-granddaughters; two step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Hamilton Chapel Cemetery by the Rev. Donald Rose.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Tony, Douglas and Richie Conner, Timothy Siron, Buddy Rexrode and Donald Coyner.
The family will receive friends at his residence on Dixon Hill at Bolar or at Obaugh Funeral Home.
