Charles Siron

November 30, 1931 — July 4, 2004

Charles Frederick Siron, 72, of McDowell, died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He was born November 30, 1931 at McDowell a son of the late James Rodney and Eva Susan Puffenbarger Siron.

Mr. Siron was the youngest member of the last graduating class (1949) at McDowell High School. He retired at a supervisor from Marin & Gass Construction in Vienna.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Boyd Siron, and a sister, Nina Smith.

He is survived by a loving companion, Judith Switzer of McDowell; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ann and Mark Roth of Oakton; a son, Stephen Rodney Siron of Manassas; a granddaughter, Kelly Ann Roth; a grandson, Jason Roth; a sister Violet Cox of Kiawah Island, S.C.; and two brothers John and Glenn Siron of Staunton.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Lester LaPrade.

Burial will be in the Siron Family Cemetery, Seldom Seen Road, McDowell.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Roth, Doug Siron, Craig Smith, Carlston Vandevander Jr., David, Dean and Lowell Simmons and Vernon Wooddell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim, Justin, Evan and Jessie Siron, Don Malcolm, Lyle Wayne Armstrong, Brandon and Jeffrey Wooddell, Michelle Simmons and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2004 at the funeral home.
