Charles Vernon Lowry, 60, died Monday, March 23, 1999 at Alleghany Regional Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1938 at Highland County, a son of Glen Brycen and Myrtle (Lunsford) Lowry.
He had been employed by Dixon Lumber Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen (Keller) Lowry of Warm Springs, to whom he was married on October 17, 1964; a daughter, Paula Martin of New London, Mo.; two sons, Vernon L. of Warm Springs and Jerry W. Lowry of Millboro; a sister, Pearl Bowles of Charleston, W.Va.; a brother, Paul B. Lowry of Mitchelltown; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Rose with burial in Jacob Cleek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Liptrap, James Hodge, Tommy Baldwin, Allen Glen Lowry Jr., Allen Lowry, and Albert, Scotty and Eddie Ailstock.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Johnny Ailstock, and Jackie Liptrap.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at the funeral.
