Charles Jack Eckard, Sr.

Charles Jack Eckard Sr., 60, of Sugar Grove, WV, died on Saturday morning, September 18, 1993 at Veterans Medical Center, Martinsburg.

He was born September 17, 1933 at Moyers, a son of Jesse H. and Virginia (Snyder) Eckard. On June 27, 1959, he married Jean Armstrong, who survives.

He was a member of Crummett Run Church of the Brethren, was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Sugar Grove VFW Post 9666. He was employed for 32 years at Wampler Chemical Co., Harrisonburg, Va.

In addition to his widow, surviving are two sons, Charles J. Jr. of Sugar Grove and Jesse L. Eckard of Franklin two sisters, Anna Lee Moran of Waynesboro, Va. and Judy Rader of Sugar Grove; two brothers, Johnny H. of Harrisonburg, Va. and Robert J. Eckard of Sugar Grove; and two grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Jimmy Bosserman and David Lee with burial in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Pallbears will be Wilmer Botkin, Reed Homan, Willie Rader, Gary and Jim Armstrong and Dolen D. Puffenbarger.
