Charles Edward Buchanan

Charles Edward Buchanan, 74, of Arlington died Saturday, June 13, 1992 at Arlington Hospital.

He was born February 7, 1918 at Willis Wharf, and was the son of the late Alexander J. and Lucille Belote Buchanan. On April 17, 1948 he married Frances McClung, who survives of Arlington.

Mr. Buchanan was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theater. Before retiring he was in the life insurance business in the Washington, D.C. area.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mr. Montgomery M. Linkous of Staunton and Mrs. Mary Leake of Arlington; three nieces, Mrs. Monte Kaye L. Skall of McLean, Mrs. Vicky L. Zapata of Ashburn, and Teri L. Hindman of Williamsburg; two nephews, Dr. William Snowden Hunter of Staunton and Charles McClung Leake of Arlington; and a number of cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 1992 at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. David M. Hindman.

Active pallbearers will be Dr. Snowden Hunter, Charles McClung Leake, Gregg P. Skall, Jeff and Lewis Shumate and John Vance.
