Carolyn Lucille (Lockridge) Burns, 56, of Staunton, loving wife of Emory "Tommy " Burns, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2003.
She was born October 6, 1946 in Highland County, a daughter of the late Pickney Stevenson Lockridge and Hazel Lockridge Carpenter Reynolds.
Mrs. Burns was a homemaker and attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren of Christ.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael S. and Diane Burns of Stuarts Draft and Dwayne T. and Kristie Burns of Staunton; very special granddaughter, Reilly Camren Burns of Staunton; brother, Joseph Lee Lockridge and wife, Betty Jean of Burnsville; sister, Evelyn White of Staunton; step brother; two step sisters; as well as a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and special friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 20, at Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren of Christ by Rev. Dennis Sites. Burial will following in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Junior Carpenter, Curtis and Anthony Lockridge, Jonathan and Kevin Burns, Stevie and Thomas White and Gary Botkin.
