Caroline Helen (Chestnut) Pritt

Caroline Helen Chestnut Pritt, 79, of Hot Springs passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at The Springs Nursing Center.

She was born on July 27, 1944 in Mountain Grove, a daughter of the late Ray Newton Chestnut and Helen Gaye Hamilton Chestnut. She graduated from Valley High School and was employed at the Gristmill Restaurant and later the Bacova Guild.

A Christian, Caroline was raised in the former Zion Presbyterian Church in Mountain Grove. She loved country music (especially Elvis, whom she was a big fan of) as well as dancing. Additionally, she loved her pet cats and working on a variety of crossword and word search puzzles. Above all, she enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.

Caroline leaves us all with heavy hearts and a link missing from our chain. She will be missed but we know that she is now at peace in a better place.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Pritt, who passed October 30, 2006; two sisters, Chloe Chestnut Miller and Dorothy Gay Chestnut; and two brothers, Nelson Chestnut and Rodney Chestnut.

Surviving family members include her brothers, Berlie Chestnut and wife, Annabell, David Ralph Chestnut, and Carl Chestnut and wife, Joy, all of Hot Springs; sisters, Lois Chestnut Cauley, Nora Chestnut Simmons, Emma Chestnut Gillispie and husband, Jimmy, all of Hot Springs, and Virginia Chestnut Martin and husband, Lonnie of Warm Springs; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Mountain Grove with Pastor Bill Gram officiating.

Friends wishing to pay their respects may call at the homes of her siblings.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gillispie, Junie Chestnut, Irvin Miller, Berlie Chestnut, Darrell Chestnut, and Robbie Chestnut.
