C. Ernest Terry, 87, of Bolar, died Sunday, November 24, 1996, at Bath County Community Hospital.

He was born January 22, 1909 at Bolar, a son of John A. and Bessie (McAllister) Terry. On August 19, 1933, he married Daisy Doyle who survives.

He attended Hamilton Chapel Advent Christian Church and Valley Bethel Church of the Brethren.

In addition to his wife, surviving are three daughters, Marie May of Hot Springs, Carol Waybright of Monterey, and Linda Hodge of Warm Springs; two sons, Charles L. and Tommy L. Terry, both of Bolar; four sisters, Katherine Pullin of Staunton, Chloe Layman of Salem, Ellen Bussard of Mustoe and Leoma Terry of Richmond; two brothers, Johnny of Staunton and Leon Terry of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Margie Ryder of Hot Springs, Scott Green of Monterey, Tammy Lowry and Timmy Hodge of Warm Springs and Crystal Waybright of Monterey; three great-grandchildren, Caileb and Caitlen Ryder of Hot Springs and Emily Lowry of Warm Springs.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Terry and a sister, Jean Layman.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home at McDowell by the Revs. Donald Rose, Wilson Nicely and Jim Wiley.

Burial will be in Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donald Doyle, Clem Kincaid, Ray Bussard, Jimmy Hiner, Roy Gutshall, Blane Ruckman, Charles Rexrode and Billy Pritt.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, PO Box 268, Monterey or to your local fire department.
