Burton McClintic Pullin, age 92, a retired livestock farmer of Staunton and formerly of McDowell, died Monday, October 26th, 1992, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
He was born May 24th, 1900 in McDowell and was a son of Frank J. and Betha Wooddell Pullin.
On October 6th, 1926, he married Emma Irene Flippo, who passed away February, 19th, 1983.
He was a member of the Highland Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Highland Senior Citizens before moving to Staunton. He had worked at the Western State Hospital for a number of years and was a past member of the Stonewall Ruritan Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Louis Merberger of Grottoes and Bertha Ann Pullin of Glendale, Ca.; two sons, Frank T. of Staunton, with whom he lived, and Larry M. Pullin of Brewster, Ohio; four sisters, Lenore Hook of Waynesboro, Vada Turning of Churchville, and Annabelle Simmons and Mary Pullin, both of Staunton; a brother, Theodore Pullin of Staunton; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. John Garber. Burial will be in the McKendree Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earl McCray, Joe Tuning, David and Gilbert Pullin, Danny Napier, John Hammer, Arnold Wooddell, Steve Armstrong, Brent Obaugh and Lennie Siron.
