Brandi Helmick

Brandi Lynn Helmick, age 25, of Monterey, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at her home.  She was born April 9, 1980 in Staunton a daughter of the late Michael Leonard and Linda Lee (Wade) Helmick.

Miss Helmick was a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church and a member of Highland Volunteer Fire Department.  She was employed at High’s Restaurant and Highland Inn and was a former DJ for WVLS radio station.  She worked with Ward Family Promotions, a pro-wrestling organization.

She is survived by a brother, Jeremy S. Helmick of Monterey; a maternal grandmother, Jackie S. Wade of Monterey; an aunt, Grace Botkin of Monterey; an uncle, R.B. Wade of Crozet; a paternal grandmother, Lillian T. Helmick of Staunton; a number of cousins and a special friend, Alice Huff.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2006 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Michael Sullivan and Rev. Richard Gibson.

Burial will be in the Wade Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Derrick Botkin, Travis Halterman, Aaron Will, Stevie Sweitzer, Greg Carter, Bobby Munsey, Jimmy Schooler, Marvin Ward and Roger Simmons, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be J.R. and Justin Botkin;  members of Highland Volunteer  Fire Department and Highland County Rescue Squad.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
