Betty Grogg

Betty Geneva Grogg, 99, of  Bacova, died Sunday evening, July 27, 1997 at the Springs Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for eight years.

She was born on November 14, 1897, at Blue Grass, a daughter of Dyer S. and Ella (Marshall) Grogg.

She was the last member of her family. She was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special care takers, Homer and Nora Simmons and special friends, Lois Cauley and Emmie Gillespie.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Bass Mitchell with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery near Blue Grass.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home,

Pallbearers will be Carol Chesnut, Jimmy Cauley, Jimmy Gillespie and Stephen Grogg.

Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Springs Nursing Center or to Meals on Wheels.
