Berlie Simmons

Berlie E. Simmons, 64, of Monterey, died on Saturday, Febuary 8, 1997 at the Springs Nursing Home.

He was born on July 3, 1932 at Highland County, a son of Charles P. and Eva Lona (Moats) Simmons.

He was plumber and a former member of the Hgihland County Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Alice (Lawhorne) Simmons of Monterey; son David A. Simmons of Mathia, WV.; brother Charles W. Simmons of Monterey; two sisters, Lola May Wolfe of Covington and Margaret Toms of Waynesboro; and two grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Moore.

Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Monk Hinkle, Ricky Doyle, Sammy Colaw, Loy Harvey, Charlie Simmons and Eugene Ratcliffe.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friend from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.
