Barbara Jean Mitchell

Barbara Jean Mitchell, 55, died Wednesday night, January 12, 1994 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 25, 1938 at Monterey, a daughter of James Randolph and Edith Jane (Swearengin) Rexrode.

She was a member of the Monterey Presbyterian Church and had worked at Aileen, Inc. for 17 years.

In addition to her mother of Monterey, survivors include two sons, Larry Stanley of Head Waters and Gary Eugene Mitchell of Monterey; two brothers, Curtis Wayne of Monterey and Roger Dale Rexrode of Doe Hill; five sisters, Charlotte Botkin, Maxine Simmons and Nancy Stanley, all of Monterey, Brenda Puffenbarger of Staunton and Betty Ann Lotts of Macedonia, Ohio; a grandson, Justin Matthew Mitchell of Head Waters; and special friend, Ralph Rexrode of Monterey.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jack Botkin, Charles William Simmons, Olin Mitchell, Leon Lotts, Jerry Stanley and Raymond Puffenbarger.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home in McDowell.
