Arvella Rexrode

SUGAR GROVE, WV Arvella J. Rexrode, 87, of Sugar Grove, WV passed away, Monday, April 4, 2016 at her home. She was born August 22, 1928 near Brandywine, WV a daughter of the late Irvin Upton and Millie Marie (Eye) Propst. Mrs. Rexrode was a homemaker, who was always cooking and baking. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and loved her flowers. She attended Crummett Run Church of the Brethren and taught Sunday school there for many years. Surviving family members include her husband of 69 years, Warren Rexrode, whom she married February 17, 1947; her children, Gerald Rexrode and wife, Linda Fay, James Rexrode and wife, Judy R., Johnny Rexrode, all of Sugar Grove, WV, Linda Rexrode and husband, Richard and Lois Riggleman and husband, Dennis, all of Franklin, WV and Bill Rexrode and wife, Dolly of Sugar Grove, WV; her grandchildren, Teresa Brossart, Diana Kesterson, Dawn Renee Propst, April Cushwa, John Michael Rexrode, Stephanie Harman, Jason Rexrode, Amy Michelle Scott, Jodi Keplinger, Krista Owens and Casey Byers; twenty-six great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janis Propst and brother, Delbert "Bud" Propst and wife, Lucy all of Brandywine, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Stacey Rexrode and Jeremy Rexrode (infant); and her brother, Jolee Propst. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Godfrey and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jason Rexrode, John Michael Rexrode, Brent Cushwa, Brandon Cushwa, Randy Propst and Dell Propst. The grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday until 8 p.m. and the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
