Arnold Malcolm

Arnold Ray Malcom, 46, of Spottswood, died Thursday February 1, 2001 at the University of Virginia Medical center.

He was born on April 17, 1954, at McDowell, a son of Hazel Belle (Arbogast) Malcom of Spottswood and the late Olen Faircloth Malcom.

On December 16, 1983, he married Ruthie Buitendyke. He was employed at Kisamore Lumber Company in Churchville for 25 years. He was also employed part-time at Frank Foschini Slaughter House.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry A. Malcom.

Survivors include his mother; his wife of Spottswood; seven daughters, April Buitendyke of Cherry Grove, W.Va., Suttie, Kelly, Samantha, Dominique, Amber and Loriann Malcom of the home; three sons, Jimmy and Derrick Malcom of the home and Cody Malcom of Natural Bridge; two sisters, Patsy Puffenbarger of Churchville and Susie Seal of Deerfield; four brothers, James of Cherry Grove, W.Va., Albert of Monterey, Bonny and Delbert Malcom of Spottswood; a grandson; four nephews and six nieces.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Gib Hale, with burial in Clover Creek Cemetery, near McDowell.

Pallbearers will be Ray, Gary and Stevie Kisamore, Junior and Charles Puffenbarger, James Lambert and Brian Seal.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friend from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home,
