Arnet P. “Buck” Hiner, age 70, of Lyndhurst, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at his home. He was born January 25, 1936 at Mustoe a son of the late James Ellett and Hattie (Acord) Hiner. On May 16, 1958, he married Judith Kennedy.
Mr. Hiner was an active member of Main Street United Methodist Church. He retired from DuPont in 1992 after 34 years of service. He did volunteer work at the Virginia Wildlife Center and Blue Ridge Parkway.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Aubrey Hiner and a sister, Hazel Hiner.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Hiner of Lyndhurst; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and David Lilly of Churchville and Gina and Eric Groah of Mint Spring; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lori Hiner of Lyndhurst; five grandchildren, Bryan Lilly and his wife, Heather, Andrew Lilly, Amanda and Jason Hiner and Randie Nicole Woods; a brother, James O. Hiner of Waynesboro; a sister, Dorothy Jane Peery of Marlinton, WV; a nephew and several nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in Monterey Cemetery by the Rev. Gary Milstead. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Main Street United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends after the service.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Hiner, Harold Baldwin, Jim McKinney, Eugene Mooney, Ed Plunkett and Byron Ford.
