Argyle Edith Gum, 91, of Monterey died Monday, January 31, 2000 at Oak Hill Center.
She was born December 31, 1908, at Blue Grass, a daughter of William Martin and Mary Gathering (Gum) Simmons.
She was a homemaker. She attended Seybert Chapel United Methodist church.
On October 4, 1928 she married Roy A. Gum; he preceded her in death October 25, 1981. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Jack Beverage of Monterey; a grandson and his wife, Dean and Kathy Beverage, of Monterey; a great-granddaughter, Lori Beverage; and nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home, by the Rev. Jerry Ginn, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Guy, Gary and Garland Wimer, Elburn, Harry and Ronald Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvie Gum, Buddy and Dean Hunt, John and Dale Beverage, Rudolph Siron, Jim and Ron Whitelaw.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
