Annie Terry

Annie Sprouse Terry, 88, of Bolar died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born June 21, 1916 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late John and Stella Mae Lewis Sprouse.

Mrs. Terry was a homemaker. She was a member of Hamilton Chapel Advent Christian Church where she served as treasurer for over 35 years and a member of the Women’s Society of the Church.

Her husband, Andrew J. Terry Jr. preceded her in death on July 1, 1982. She was also predeceased by three brothers, John Lewis, Edward and Ernes Sprouse; three sisters, Lula Lowe, Addie Rogers, infant Madeline Sprouse; two half-brothers, Lonnie and Charlie Goodall and a half-sister, Lora G. Terry.

She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christine Terry and John David Colaw of Bolar; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Andrew and Frances Terry of Bolar; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, March 18 at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Rose.

Burial was in Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were grandsons Mike, David and Jody Colaw, Andy Terry, John Kershner and Jerry Moats.

Honorary pallbearers were friends and neighbors attending the service.
