Anna L. Colaw, 58, of Blue Grass, died Friday morning, April 26, 1996 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born in Rockingham County on January 7, 1938, a daughter of Charles P. and Cloda Pitsenbarger Rexrode.
On July 4, 1956 she married George J. Colaw, who survives.
Mrs. Colaw was a member of the Blue Grass United Methodist church, where she served as choir director and was a soloist for the church and other occasions. She was employed by the Blue Grass Valley Bank for 30 years as assistant cashier. She was a director of the Highland unit of the American Cancer Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Curt Hancock of Doe Hill; a son, Greg Colaw of Blue Grass; a sister, Velda Moyers of Moyers, WV; a grandson, James Curtis Hancock of Doe Hill.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 29 in the Blue Grass United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Gibson, with burial in the Blue Grass Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Willard May, Charles Propst, Harvey Eye, Olin Sponaugle, Joe Will and Benny Colaw. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
