Anita Mock

WILLIAMSVILLE, VA Anita Carroll Mock, 80, of the Williamsville community of Highland County passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born January 16, 1933 at Stanley, WI, a daughter of the late Carl and Bethelva (Gibbs) Brandt. She was a member of Old Paths Baptist Church at Buffalo Gap. Mrs. Mock began her career as an X-ray technician and retired as a medical office manager from Richmond Radiation and Oncology Clinic. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Mock of the Williamsville community, whom she married on June 6, 1953; daughter, Cynthia Beatty and husband, Daniel of Medina, NY; two sons, René Mock and wife, Deborah of Boston, VA and Rodney Mock and Whitney Kern of Richmond; ten grandchildren, David, Stephanie and Jonathan Mock, Samuel and Isaiah Beatty, Elizabeth O'Neill, Josiah Beatty, S. Andrew, Sharon and Samantha Mock; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Bonita Kline of Minneapolis, MN and brother, Lyle Brandt of Stanley, WI. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Brandt. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Pastor John Smith officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Presbyterian Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be René Mock, Jonathan Mock, S. Andrew Mock, Daniel Beatty, Josiah Beatty and Isaiah Beatty. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Mock, David Mock and Samuel Beatty. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McDowell Presbyterian Cemetery on the Hill, c/o Shannon Maloy, 1982 Bullpasture River Rd, McDowell, VA 24458.
