Alice Will

Alice Wanda (Harper) Will, 92, of Blue Grass, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017.

She was born August 3, 1925 in Circleville, W.Va., a daughter of the late "Kitty" Leoda  Kate (Weiford) and Boyd Harper. On December 21, 1946 she married William C. Will.

Alice will be remembered for her hard work ethic, who at the age of 90, was still working on the woodpile, cutting thistles and clearing the creek. She also enjoyed visiting with neighbors and family and she attended Word of Faith Church. She worked for many years as a seamstress at Aileen, Inc. as well as being employed by High’s Restaurant.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by her daughter, Joy Will Ashlin; granddaughter, Jodie Will; and 13 siblings.

Alice is survived by four sons William, Jimmie  and wife, Linda, Jackie and wife, Carla and Joe and friend, Kim, all of Blue Grass; seven grandchildren, Kitty Rexrode of Franklin, W.Va., Jamie Will of Mustoe, William “Bill” Will of Blue Grass, Justin Will of Blue Grass, Aaron Will of Verona, Amanda Dray of Staunton and Brett Will of Blue Grass; six great-grandchildren; special friends and caregivers, Patricia Warner and Sharon Mullenax; as well as a great number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held in Blue Grass Cemetery, at 11 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2017 with pastor Chip Hill officiating.

The family will receive friends, 7-9 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Obaugh Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Jake and John Colaw, Les Kodger, Buddy Harper, Hap Darragh and Bobby Chestnut.
