Alfred "Al" Smith McCoy

Alfred "Al" Smith McCoy, 63, of McDowell, died on Thursday afternoon, October 15, 1992 at Staunton Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on October 16, 1928 at Doe Hill a son of Lester E. McCoy of Liberty House Nursing Home, Harrisonburg and Rebecca Smith Summers of Harrisonburg.

He was a woodsman and had worked at the Taylor Ramsey sawmill at McDowell for a number of years.

Besides his parents, surviving are a sister, Virginia Wimer of Churchville; two nieces; and a nephew.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral by the Rev. Steve McMillion, with burial in Doe Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Hammer, Dale Botkin, Larry Smith, Mark Campbell, Ronnie Wimer and Henry Snead.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
