Ada Belle Moats Snyder, 80, of McDowell, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at her residence. She was born August 9, 1923 in Pendleton County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Neal and Lillie Catherine Vandevander Vandevander.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Hiner Church of the Brethren. She was a homemaker and she also had worked at the former Shen-Mar in Bridgewater and Marvil Poultry in Dadyton.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Luther W. Moats; her ex-husband, William C. Snyder; a son, Jimmy Moats; a daughter-in-law, Jenny Moats; a grandson, Clyde D. Moats, Jr.; four brothers, Tom, Roy, Ephraim and Randolph Vandevander and two sisters, Allie and Lola Vandevander.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Bill Smith of Verona; three sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde Delmas and Audrey Moats of Staunton, Carl Richard and Kathryn Moats of Hagerstown, Md. and Luther Carson and Dana Moats of Richlands; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and a sister, Mildred Moats of Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Dave Boger.
Burial will be in the McKendree Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Vandevander, Dolen Puffenbarger, Rick and Donnie Halterman, Scott Arbogast, Manny Propst, Gary Castle and Worthie Pitsenbarger.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
